You should use oil or wax to grease a bicycle chain. These allow the chain and the entire drivetrain to do its job smoothly. This makes your ride a lot nicer and you won’t be bothered by squeaking and creaking noises. It is important to remove and reapply the oily layer regularly. How often you should do this depends on the circumstances. For example, if you often go off-road with your mountain bike, the chain comes into contact with a lot of dirt. This will adhere to the greasy layer, in that case you should clean the chain more often.

Of course, the wax and oil have their pros and cons. Velorest Chain Lube Wet can handle wet and harsh conditions very well. It is made of 15 raw materials, for example it contains wax and Teflon. The disadvantage of the Chain Lube Wet is that it attracts dirt. You should therefore clean the chain more often and reapply the product.

Velorest Chain Wax works best in dry conditions, but also works just fine during rain showers, for example. The advantage of chain wax is the dirt-repellent effect. The chain gets dirty less quickly, the coarse dirt can easily be removed with a dry cloth. So you don’t have to clean the chain as often, in addition, wax often has a longer effect.
